As a quality assurance measure for the journal,Samvada: Jurnal Riset Komunikasi, Media, Dan Public Relation ensures the professionalism of all parties involved, including the journal managers, authors, editors, and reviewers, by adhering to the Samvada Journal Publication Ethics adopted from the Elsevier Publication Ethics Statement and Publication Malpractice and the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors, as follows:
Editor’s Responsibilities
Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts exclusively based on their academic merit (interest, originality, study validity, clarity), and their relevance to the scope of the journal. The Editor-in-Chief has full authority over the entire editorial content of the journal and the timing of the publication. The editorial staff will maintain confidentiality of the articles. All articles submitted for consideration are peer-reviewed by at least two experts in the relevant field.
Reviewer’s Responsibilities
Peer reviewers assist the editor in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with the authors, can help improve the quality of the articles. Only qualified reviewers will be invited to review articles. Each article under review is considered a confidential document and will be treated as such; it will not be shared or discussed with others unless permitted by the Editor-in-Chief. Reviews will be conducted objectively, and observations will be clearly formulated with supporting arguments, so that the authors can use them to improve the article. Reviewers will identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors and will also inform the editor about substantial similarities or overlap between the article and other articles (published or unpublished).
Any invited reviewer with a conflict of interest due to competition, collaboration, or any other relationships or connections with the authors, company, or institution associated with the manuscript and the described work will be immediately replaced by a more impartial reviewer.
Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted article will not be used in the reviewer’s own research without written consent from the author. Information or ideas obtained through peer review will be kept confidential and will not be used for personal gain by the reviewer.
Author’s Responsibilities
Authors of original research must present an accurate report of the work performed and its results, followed by an objective discussion of the significance of the work. Authors must ensure that they have written and submitted only entirely original works, and if they have used the works and/or words of others, those works have been properly cited. Influential publications that define the nature of the reported work should also be cited. Manuscripts that essentially describe the same research should not be published in more than one journal or primary publication. Therefore, authors must not submit manuscripts that have been published in other journals for consideration.
Only individuals who are deemed to have made significant contributions may be listed as authors of the article. All those who have indirectly made major contributions to the reported work should not be listed as authors but must be acknowledged in the "Acknowledgments" section. Authors must ensure that they have properly acknowledged the work of others by citing supporting publications.
When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, it is their duty to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with them to correct the paper in the form of an erratum or to retract the paper. If the editor or publisher learns from a third party that a published work contains significant errors or inaccuracies, it is the author’s responsibility to promptly correct or retract the paper or provide evidence to the journal editor about the correctness of the paper.
Authors publishing with this journal agree to retain copyright and grant the journal the first publication rights with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. Authors may enter into separate contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published journal version of the work (e.g., posting it to institutional repositories or publishing it in a book), with acknowledgment of the original publication in this journal.
