This study seeks to elucidate the role of transparent, dialogical, and culturally resonant corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices, such as local recruitment, procurement, and support for community initiatives, in fostering participatory engagement and facilitating collective ecological action. The findings indicate that dialogical communication strategies, including collaborative forums, inclusive storytelling, and regular feedback mechanisms, effectively mobilize diverse stakeholders and integrate ecological interventions within local values and practices. Employing a case study methodology, this research highlights the capacity of CSR practices to enhance the legitimacy, impact, and sustainability of environmental initiatives, thereby increasing their resilience to challenges and likelihood of long-term sustainability. Data collection involved interviews and observations of a purposively selected cohort of individuals and hotel employees. The study identifies critical contextual factors, such as cultural appropriateness, governance dynamics, and pre-existing public relations, that may limit the positive effects of CSR communication. It is imperative to address barriers such as language gaps and institutional mistrust to prevent exclusion and skepticism. These findings contribute to theoretical understanding by positioning CSR communications as integral to environmental governance, while also providing practical guidance for businesses and policymakers: prioritizing participatory and context-sensitive communication and ensuring alignment between CSR messages and substantive actions. This research underscores the strategic value of environmental CSR communication in addressing the ecological crisis through adaptive stakeholder collaboration
2025-11-28T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://e-journal.iahn-gdepudja.ac.id/index.php/JSv/article/view/3302 Konstruksi Realitas Multiportal: Agenda Setting dan Framing Humas Pemerintah Dalam Distribusi Informasi di Era Media Digital 2025-12-08T07:37:25+07:00 I Wayan Sudiartawan wayansudiartawan00@gmail.com Ida Bagus Made Arjana ibarjana@gmail.com
Digital transformation is forcing government public relations to evolve from one-way information dissemination to sophisticated multi-platform engagement. However, a critical gap exists between strategic potential and practical implementation, particularly in resource-constrained contexts. This research aims to deconstruct multi-platform framing strategies and identify drivers and barriers to their execution. A case study approach was employed, utilizing triangulation through semi-structured interviews with PR officers, non-participant observation of social media activity, and documentary analysis of content from official platforms. The findings reveal a critical paradox that demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of multi-platform framing, strategically tailoring government messaging to emphasize distinct attributes of multi-portal reality construction practices. However, these strategies are hampered by resource gaps, leading to agenda rationing and reliance on other departments for content. Furthermore, these strategies remain largely one-way broadcasts, resulting in a striking engagement paradox where high follower numbers do not translate into meaningful public interactions, as citizen data indicates a preference for more entertaining content. This research contributes a Multiportal Agenda-Setting Model that illustrates the dynamic, limited process of government communication within a fragmented media ecology.
2025-11-28T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://e-journal.iahn-gdepudja.ac.id/index.php/JSv/article/view/3303 Dampak Penggunaan Chatgpt Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Tulisan Mahasiswa Dalam Mata Kuliah Bahasa Indonesia 2025-12-08T07:38:05+07:00 Ni Putu Sasmika Dewi novisuharta@gmail.com
The use of ChatGPT has become a new habit among university students, especially when they work on assignments for Indonesian language courses. This study looks closely at how the technology influences first-semester students who are still in the early stage of developing their writing skills. Using a qualitative approach, the research involved classroom observation, short interviews, and a review of several student writing samples. The findings show that many students rely on ChatGPT to generate initial ideas or simply to help them begin their first paragraph. For some of them, the tool makes their writing appear more organized. However, when they are asked to write without any assistance, they tend to work slowly, hesitate, and produce various basic errors, particularly in sentence structure, word choice, and paragraph coherence. These patterns suggest that technological assistance does not automatically support the growth of writing ability. Beneath the convenience offered by AI tools, students still need adequate digital literacy skills to evaluate, adjust, and refine AI-generated text according to their own understanding. Without this ability, the use of ChatGPT may actually hinder the development of written communication skills, which should ideally be strengthened from the beginning of their academic journey.
2025-11-28T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://e-journal.iahn-gdepudja.ac.id/index.php/JSv/article/view/3305 Peranan Cerita Rakyat Dalam Mempromosikan Daya Tarik Wisata Melalui Storytelling 2025-12-08T07:38:38+07:00 I Made Suyasa kadeksuyasa@gmail.com Putu Arya Reksa Anggratyas reksa.anggratyas@iahn-gdepudja.ac.id
This study aims to analyze the strategic role of folklore as an instrument in promoting tourism destinations through storytelling approaches within the framework of Cultural Tourism Communication. Tourism destinations are increasingly selling not merely natural beauty or infrastructure, but also profound "experiences" and "meanings," where folklore serves as the soul of a place. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach, collecting data from secondary sources including books, journal articles, and scholarly publications related to cultural tourism, folklore, and communication. The analysis applies Cultural Tourism Communication theory, which emphasizes the exchange of meanings and cultural values between tourists and local communities. This theoretical framework is reinforced by the concept of storytelling as an effective communication medium for transmitting values. Folklore is not viewed as a passive narrative, but as a "living culture" revitalized through performances by tour guides or digital media, thereby creating emotional connections and profound experiential tourism for visitors. Findings indicate that integrating folklore through storytelling plays a crucial role in: (1) destination differentiation, distinguishing destinations through unique cultural narratives; (2) cultural preservation, reviving nearly extinct oral traditions; (3) enhancing tourism experiences by adding layers of meaning and context to tourist attractions; and (4) destination branding, shaping authentic and distinctive perceptions. This study concludes that folklore-based storytelling constitutes a powerful cultural tourism communication strategy. It functions not only as a promotional tool, but also as a bridge connecting the past with the present, tourists with local communities, while preserving intangible cultural heritage for sustainable tourism development.
2025-11-28T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://e-journal.iahn-gdepudja.ac.id/index.php/JSv/article/view/3306 From Client to Partner: Negotiating the Meaning of Power Asymmetry in Communication Between Worker Parents and Daycare Organizers 2025-12-08T07:39:12+07:00 I Komang Kantun komangkantun@gmail.com I Gede Widiada gdwidiada@gmail.com I Wayan Sutama iansutama83@gmail.com
The relationship between the parents of the workers and the daycare manager is frequently characterized as evolving from a client-service provider dynamic to a partnership. This qualitative case study conducted at Koala Daycare in Jimbaran challenges the linear narrative by uncovering the complexity of meaning and power negotiation. Through comprehensive observations and interviews with both parents and managers, analyzed using Giddens' Structuration Theory and the Coordinated Management of Meaning (CMM), this study reveals that power relations are dynamic and subject to continuous negotiation. The findings indicate that communication forms a cyclical process, beginning with the negotiation of written rules, followed by the power struggle among experts during the initiation stage, the selective openness of parents, and the paradox of CCTV technological transparency, which simultaneously fosters trust and serves as a supervisory mechanism. The critical conclusion is that what emerges is not a genuine partnership but rather a "pseudo-partnership"—a fragile social order perpetually maintained through the coordination of meaning in everyday communication, amid the tension between transactional and collaborative logic.
2025-11-28T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://e-journal.iahn-gdepudja.ac.id/index.php/JSv/article/view/3307 Agenda Setting Program Siaran Mimbar Agama Hindu TVRI NTB Dalam Mewujudkan Visi Indonesia Emas 2045 2025-12-08T07:39:45+07:00 I Putu Gandi Juni Wijaya iputugandijuniwijaya@gmail.com I Dewa Komang Intaran Aditya Winata iputugandijuniwijaya@gmail.com Rieka Yulita Widaswara riekawidaswara@gmail.com
Towards the golden age of Indonesia in 2045, Indonesia's vision is to become a developed country and be on par with other superpower countries. The increasing flow of tourists has created the potential for the profanation of sacred spaces through commercialization, behavioral shifts, and environmental pressures, thus demanding new communication practices to maintain the sanctity of the temple. This interpretive qualitative study aims to reveal the role of spiritual communication in preserving the holiness of Batu Bolong Temple as a Hindu tourist destination, involving stakeholders, managers, devotees, and business actors as key participants. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies, and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The research results show three main forms of spiritual communication: ritual symbolic communication, interpersonal communication based on the values of dharma and tat twam asi, and educational communication to tourists regarding the sacred–profane boundaries.
