Through unique rhythmic variations at each procession stage, Dol serves not only as musical accompaniment but also as a ritual phase marker, a means of non-verbal communication, and a symbol of Bengkulu's cultural identity. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach involving detailed interviews with the Head of the Bengkulu Pavilion at TMII and a review of literature, this research reveals that Dol music has interconnected roles: regulating the procession's rhythm, creating a collective emotional atmosphere, and instilling cultural values through firsthand experience. Nevertheless, a gap in understanding persists among the younger generation, who frequently view Dol merely as a performance. This study underscores the need to enhance cultural education and leverage digital media to ensure the tradition's continuity. The findings suggest that Dol is a vibrant cultural element that links ritual meaning, social cohesion, and the preservation of community identity.

2026-03-31T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://e-journal.iahn-gdepudja.ac.id/index.php/JWS/article/view/3282 Analisis Literatur Implementasi Pembelajaran Seni Rupa Dalam Meningkatkan Apresiasi Siswa Sekolah Dasar 2026-08-10T00:16:46+07:00 Fatimah Azzahra azzahfatimah286@gmail.com Himatul Azka himatul.azka@mhs.uingusdur.ac.id Bintan Karima Faida bintan.karima.faida@mhs.uingusdur.ac.id Salma Fitriani Novanda salma.fitriani.novanda@mhs.uingusdur.ac.id
Fine arts education at the elementary school level is an important part of shaping students' personalities, aesthetic sensitivity, and creativity. This study examines the historical development of Balinese gamelan, compares it with Javanese gamelan, and analyzes the influence of modernity on the transformation of its instruments and musical aesthetics. Using a qualitative method through interviews with Balinese artists at TMII and library research, this study finds that Balinese gamelan has undergone significant evolution both in its musical structure and organological aspects. Unlike Javanese gamelan, which tends to preserve its traditional form, Balinese gamelan has evolved more rapidly due to the expressive and adaptive cultural characteristics of Balinese society. Modernity accelerates these changes through the influence of technology, tourism, and global artistic interactions. This study concludes that Balinese gamelan is able to maintain its traditional identity while simultaneously adapting to the demands of contemporary artistic development.
2026-03-31T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://e-journal.iahn-gdepudja.ac.id/index.php/JWS/article/view/4290 A Conceptual Analysis of the Integration of Panca Cinta into the Love-Based Curriculum at Pratama Widyalaya Educational Institutions 2026-08-10T00:18:33+07:00 Ida Bagus Alit Arta Wiguna gusarta@iahn-gdepudja.ac.id I Gusti Komang Kembarawan gusarta@iahn-gdepudja.ac.id Sri Sofiana Amni gusarta@iahn-gdepudja.ac.id I Made Partha Wiguna gusarta@iahn-gdepudja.ac.id
This research departs from the need to strengthen the Hindu early childhood education curriculum, which is not only oriented to academic achievements but also to character formation, spirituality, social concern, and ecological awareness. This article aims to conceptually analyze the integration of the Five Loves in the Love-Based Curriculum in Pratama Widyalaya. The Five Loves include Love for God, Love for Knowledge, Love for the Environment, Love for Self and Fellow Humans, and Love for the Homeland. This study uses a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach and content analysis. The sources of the study include love-based curriculum documents and Widyalaya regulations, as well as scientific articles related to character education, humanistic education, Hindu education, and early childhood education. The conceptual hypothesis of this study states that the integration of Panca Cinta can strengthen early childhood character education if these values are translated into learning objectives, play experiences, daily habits, educational unit culture, and evaluation of child development. The results of the study show that Panca Cinta serves as an integrative framework that brings together general education, Hindu distinctiveness, character education, and humanistic approaches. The contribution of this article lies in the preparation of a conceptual model of Panca Cinta integration that is specific to Pratama Widyalaya. These findings are important as the basis for the development of a religious, humanist, ecological, inclusive, and contextual Hindu early childhood curriculum.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://e-journal.iahn-gdepudja.ac.id/index.php/JWS/article/view/4334 Stimulasi Kreativitas dan Sportivitas Anak melalui Lomba Modern dance sebagai Wadah Pengembangan Potensi Diri 2026-08-30T21:54:43+07:00 Ummi Masruroh ummimasruroh@gmail.com
Arts education for children plays a vital role in fostering creativity, social skills, and character development through active and expressive learning experiences. However, children's arts activities are often viewed merely as performance events; their potential as a medium for developing creativity and sportsmanship, particularly within the context of modern dance competitions, has not been extensively explored. This study aims to analyze the role of modern dance competitions in stimulating creativity and fostering sportsmanship as part of children's personal development. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, focusing on a modern dance team comprising 12 children participating in the Hakka Youth Lombok event. Data were gathered through observations during preparation, rehearsal, and the competition itself, as well as through semi-structured interviews with participants' parents and activity documentation. The findings indicate that modern dance competitions stimulate children's creativity through movement exploration, the development of expressive skills, adaptability, and teamwork. Furthermore, the competitive experience fosters sportsmanship by instilling discipline, responsibility, and an appreciation for the process, alongside the ability to view the competition experience positively. This study demonstrates that modern dance competitions serve not only as performing arts activities but also as an educational approach that holistically supports the development of children's creativity, character, and personal potential. The results underscore the importance of utilizing competition-based arts activities as meaningful learning experiences for child development.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://e-journal.iahn-gdepudja.ac.id/index.php/JWS/article/view/4335 Aktivitas Seni Mewarnai dalam Kegiatan Perlombaan sebagai Sarana Meningkatkan Kreativitas dan Kepercayaan Diri Anak Usia Dini 2026-08-30T22:00:17+07:00 Ade Lestari Dwipadmini dwilestari@gmail.com
Early childhood education regards art activities as a crucial approach to fostering children's creativity, expressive abilities, and socio-emotional development. However, studies on coloring activities within a competitive context remain limited, as most research focuses separately on enhancing creativity or motor skills. This study aims to analyze coloring competitions as a means to boost creativity and self-confidence among early childhood participants at Hakka Youth Lombok. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the study focuses on Category A participants ranging from playgroup to kindergarten age and involves supervising teachers, parents, and committee members as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that coloring competitions provide children with opportunities to explore ideas, select colors, create artwork independently, and build the courage to showcase their abilities. Support from teachers, parents, and committee members further reinforces the development of the children's creativity, self-confidence, and sportsmanship throughout the event. This study contributes to the field of early childhood education by demonstrating that art competitions are not merely product-oriented but serve as learning experiences that holistically support the development of a child's potential.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
